Requirements and Restrictions for Your Motorcycle Rental in Las Vegas

Escape Eagles has been one of the leading sources for motorcycle rental in Las Vegas for 15 years. If you are interested in a rental, there are some minimum requirements and restrictions that you must meet. First off, all those who are interested in renting a motorcycle must have a motorcycle license that is current and valid, and be at least 21 years of age. As is the case with all rental companies, a major credit card will be needed to process your reservation. Here are some other requirements and restrictions you’ll want to know about.

Helmets

Nevada law requires that all riders and passengers on motorcycles wear DOT-approved helmets at all times. Approved helmets will have been tested for the following:

  • Impact: In the event of an accident, the helmet must be able to absorb the brunt of the shock in order to protect the rider from head and neck injuries.
  • Penetration: The outer shell of all helmets must be constructed in such a way that they are able to resist the penetration of sharp objects.
  • Retention: Helmets must have chinstraps or some other type of fastening system that will allow the helmet to stay in place while riding or if a collision occurs.
  • Peripheral vision: A rider’s peripheral vision must be unobstructed by the design of the helmet, allowing them to see a minimum of 105 degrees to each side.

If you ride frequently and have your own three-quarter or full-face helmet that meets these standards, you are encouraged to use it with your rental. If you need a helmet, Escape Eagles has a selection of DOT-approved helmets for you and a passenger to choose from that are included with your rental.

Insurance

Nevada law also stipulates that all motorcycles on the road must be insured with at least $10,000 worth of coverage, and Escape Eagles has included this state minimum as a portion of the rental fee. Should you desire to supplement this insurance, there are SLI and PAI/PEI coverage packages available, as well.

Reservations and cancellations

It is recommended that you book your rental well in advance, and a $50 deposit will be required with each reservation. If you have made your reservation and for some reason need to cancel, doing so at least 14 days in advance of your scheduled rental will allow you to have your deposit refunded. If you have to cancel within 14 days of your scheduled rental, your deposit will be held, but will be saved for use with a future rental. If you have to unexpectedly cancel within 48 hours of your rental, the total price of the rental will be forfeited.
